Is Iggy Pop aware that Leonard Cohen has returned to the stage? On this set of songs inspired by French novelist Michel Houellebecq's The Possibility of an Island, the Stooges frontman channels Cohen's philosophical Sprechstimme over burnished old-man arrangements that swirl Parisian café jazz with acoustic blues and low-key electronics. The results feel tossed-off at times, but Iggy still flashes his charm and humor, as on "King of the Dogs," a randy New Orleans boogie in which he boasts of having a piece of meat in between his teeth.

A very nice article, thank you really are great "One could say my life itself has been http://www.sohbet32.net one long soundtrack. Music was my life, music http://www.muhabbetim.in brought me to life, and music is how I will be remembered long after I leave this life. When I die there will be a final waltz playing in my head, that only I can hear'
The biker version was my favorite.

It is a different Iggy Pop. One might say more of a James Osterburg (His real name)
Brings to mind that fake quote "One could say my life itself has been one long soundtrack. Music was my life, music brought me to life, and music is how I will be remembered long after I leave this life. When I die there will be a final waltz playing in my head, that only I can hear'
The quote is fake but this Iggy pop album captures its spirt.

This record is amazing, Iggy and producer Hal Cragin [Hal discovered the crystal antlers as well!!] did it together. and it is unlike anything out there, Hardly a leonard cohen record! Or Tom Waits...for that matter
Iggy sounds great on Nice to be Dead and Je sais..this records a big surprise, and futhers Iggys rep as a true artist. Would love to see him do this live!!
Got something to say?
